Man Vs. Nature
This was my first attempt at printing and making linoleum stamps. I had a lot of fun, and got a serious hand workout from all the shaving.
This piece is meant to help illustrate the connection between what is man-made and what is natural. Both good and bad connections occur and as a society we do not pay enough attention to them. By creating this piece I hope to draw more attention to the choices we make and how they are effecting the world around us.
Accordion Recreation Piece
This piece is an accordion book with illustrations influenced by Shahzia Sikander. Each piece was created with black ink and watercolors, as well as artificial gold leaf in the seams and gold modeling paste for details.
Step-By-Step Prompted Piece
This was a class led piece. The teacher wrote general directions on the board ("Make a filled box on your paper" etc.) that eventually lead to the creation of this piece. I was not a fan of this piece at the beginning but ended up really enjoying it in the end.
